A Lycanthrope or Lycan for short is not compelled by the lunar cycle. They can "shift" at any time of day. On a full moon a Lycan will be easier to agitate. In wolf form they are plenty more powerful. A werewolf on the other hand is a slave to the lunar cycle. On a full moon, they will have almost no control of their actions. A more experienced wolf may be able to control his/her's actions. During a lunar eclipse, a werewolf will have all the capabilities of a Lycan. Sliver effects both but, in different ways. Because werewolves are a sub-spieces. Sliver burns a werewolf but, only annoys a Lycan. A Lycan can learn to ignore the effects of sliver.
There are three diffrent way to become a werewolf but are only two ways to become an Lycan. The three ways to become a werewolf are: by bite, by blood or by magic. You can become a Lycan by blood or magic but if a Lycan bites you you will be come a werewolf.
There are different classes of Lycans: Omega, Beta, Alpha, King. A lycan can "evolve" only during a "hunter" or blue moon. Werewolfs are shunned by Lycans because they are like Dogs compared to Lycans.

Is any difference between the classes of Lycans...i mean Omega is a lower rank from Alpha? Or Alpha have some better skills from Omega??
ReplyDeleteThe different ranks of Lycans are Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Omegas are essentially loners or have been exiled from the pack. Betas are the most frequent rank of Lycans, a mortal that has been bitten by an Alpha becomes a Beta. Alphas are either pure blood Lycans (both parents are Lycans) or a Beta that has killed an Alpha during a full moon. Finally the highest rank a Lycan can aspire to is a King Lycan. These Lycans are part of the royal family. The only way a Lycan can increase to the rank of King, apart from being born into it, is if a Alpha kills a King during the "Hunter's Moon" or blue moon. The last blue moon occurred August 2012 and their won't be another until 2019.
